We have been pushing for discussion of the D10 idea at recent G7 Summit meetings, with no success so far There was no sign that any such proposal appeared on the agenda at the most recent Summit in Italy. There was much discussion of aid for Ukraine, but Australia and South Korea were not even present at the Summit. Instead, Italy invited a number of countries from the Global South to attend the Summit, to discuss increasing aid for them to help prevent the hordes of refugees attempting to reach Europe.
The 2025 Summit will be chaired by Canada, which is itself an Indo-Pacific power, and should be much more receptive to our ideas. We must renew our campaign in their direction in coming months!
